Great Commission Movements, Papua New Guinea was registered originally as “PNG Campus Crusade for Christ” in March 1978.  It is part of the parent organization Campus Crusade for Christ, Int’l. (Cru), which is in approximately 191 countries.

For the first 30 years in Papua New Guinea, we concentrated on working with churches.  We trained pastors and lay people how to live an abundant Christian life, to share their faith, and to disciple others.

We began showing the Jesus Film in villages all around the country. (The Jesus Film has been translated into more than 85 PNG languages, as well as more than 1,600 others around the world.)

Family Life (another ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ), held Weekend to Remember conferences in Port Moresby and Rabaul in the early 2000’s.

Youth At the Crossroads curriculum was launched in schools to teach morality through Jesus to help combat the AIDS epidemic in PNG.

Today the main location for our ministry activity is the campus of UPNG (with plans to spread to other universities). We are reaching tomorrow’s leaders, who will impact the country in the years to come. As these young leaders are built in their faith, they learn to share that faith and disciple others to do the same. We pray that the light of Christ will spread through every people group in PNG and beyond through them.
